Leadership

Brett Lamb

Brett Lamb

Founder & CEO

Read Bio

Brett began his legal career at Baylor University School of Law (JD, 1999). While in school, Brett had the unique experience of going to trial alongside two of his Baylor Law professors. The trial team utilized eDiscovery in its earliest form to manage the massive document load generated by a largescale construction project. Since then, he has had the distinguished opportunity to explore almost every aspect of the construction business which has positioned him to serve the industry’s eDiscovery needs.

Brett practiced and was a partner at Gardere Wynne Sewell (now Foley Lardner) where he focused on commercial trial and construction law. At Gardere, Brett managed numerous large-scale litigation matters requiring an outside eDiscovery vendor. Time and again, he found that outside eDiscovery firms missed the mark with poor service, confusing price structures, and lack of expertise. An idea began to form.

Brett later became General Counsel with Austin Industries, an ENR Top 50 general contractor specializing in commercial, industrial, and civil construction, where he further experienced the disconnect between eDiscovery vendors and clients. This was especially true for clients in the construction space. He found that eDiscovery providers were not specifically investing in the nuances of construction litigation, leading to increased costs and reduced efficiencies.

The obstacle, however, moved from frustration to invention. This led to the inception of The Discovery Experts. As the founder and CEO of The Discovery Experts, Brett uses his vast experience in the courtroom and the boardroom to serve as an invaluable eDiscovery teammate.

Brett utilizes his extensive industry background, varied courtroom experiences, knowledge of the law, and eDiscovery strategy to make our clients’ eDiscovery interactions more rewarding.
